Unfortunately, for the convenience of all our guests, we are a pet free establishment.

We do have our own dogs and cats that shouldn’t have access to the cottages, but should they have come to welcome you and are a nuisance, please let us know!

Our water comes from our own borehole and is tested at a very good quality and is also filtered, so it is safe to drink straight from the tap.

We offer free, uncapped, Wi-Fi that is usually a good quality for working, streaming and TV watching.

Unfortunately Fibre has not arrived in our area.

Please note that our cottages are NOT serviced.

Our guests prefer to be left to enjoy the quiet countryside at their leisure.

Linen and towels are changed weekly.

For stays longer than 7 days, basic housekeeping is available ON SPECIAL REQUEST ONLY by prior arrangement, (excluding weekends and Public Holidays) at an additional fee.

Cleaning only takes place while the cottage is vacated by the guests.

Each cottage has its own Smart TV with WiFi and Netflix is provided free for your enjoyment.

Please respect our quiet country living, our neighbours and other guests.

Music and TVs are to be kept at a very low level at all times of the day and night.  If your neighbour can hear you, the music/ TV is too loud!

We do not have a Reception Area.

Check-in and Check-out is contactless.  We do however live on site and are here should you have any queries, need any help or have any problems during your stay with us.

We provide basic complimentary soap, shampoo, toilet paper and dish soap for your convenience, on first arrival.

Extras can be purchased at our local Islands Spar or Skeerpoort Total Garage Shop.

Our kitchens are very well equipped with a gas stove and oven, fridge/ freezer, microwave, toaster, kettle, iron, ironing board and enough pots and pans, crockery and cutlery, glasses etc to make your stay with us a good one!

We pride ourselves on being a home-away-from-home.

Unfortunately we do not have backup generators, so we do suffer along with everyone else during Eskom’s rolling blackout.

We do provide a rechargeable lamp in the cottage, plus a couple of torches, but feel free to bring along anything else you usually require during loadshedding.

As we live in the countryside, we have our own borehole water that needs electricity to pump it, so we will run a generator during loadshedding between 7am and 9pm for the bathrooms. We do not run the generator all night as the noise is more of an inconvenience than a couple of hours without water.  We do provide “emergency” containers of water in the kitchen and bathroom.

We will provide you with the loadshedding schedule during your stay, but please keep yourself updated and informed, as we all know by now, Eskom does change it sometimes with no notice provided.

Obviously, WiFi and TV is not possible during loadshedding, so bring a book, board games or cards and enjoy your time together with your family.

Feel free to also make use of our lovely gardens under the trees, pool and deck area and firepit during loadshedding.

We are a malaria free area, but the lamps on the verandah contain citronella oil for your comfort while you enjoy our beautiful evenings and mountain view outside on our verandah around the braai. Lights left on inside with windows open are an invitation for mosquitos and bugs to enter!

Please note that you are welcome to use the dam area in front of the cottages. Children must be under adult supervision only at all times.

The gates to the Dam are between Cottages 5 & 6.  Please keep it closed at all times.  Our dogs may bark, but they don’t bite

ALL THESE AMENITIES ARE FOR USE AT YOUR OWN RISK.

You are welcome to make use of the deck, firepit and swimming reservoir too.

Fishing is strictly catch and release for fun.

Please note that we have provided coloured towels in your bedroom cupboard that may be used for swimming.  Please do not remove any of our white towels from the cottages.

PLEASE KEEP ALL SHARP OBJECTS AWAY FROM THE POOL AS IT WILL DAMAGE OUR RESERVOIR LINING.

Our gas stove is not an electric self igniting stove.

There is a lighter in the little cupboard above the stove.

To light – push and hold the selected knob in, turn to the left, light, hold until lit before releasing for a couple of seconds.

The oven works in the same way. The ignitor point is a little circle inside the oven in the front, centre, base.

We also have a braai in each cottage’s garden for you to enjoy.

Please note we do not provide wood, charcoal or firelighters. You need to bring these along with you or purchase from our local Spar or Garage Shop.

We are fortunate to live in the countryside in our beautiful country, but sadly crime is a possibility anywhere and everywhere these days.

We do have solar-powered lights in our under cover parking bays, as well as invisible burglar bars on our cottage windows.

Our cottages also have motion detectors in them and are linked to the office at the Main House.

We are also registered with an armed response company.

We have taken precautions to protect your property and ours, but please, do remember to lock the doors and activate the cottage alarm when you leave and disarm again when you return.

Yes, we do have an above ground, reservoir style swimming pool on site for you to enjoy.

Yes! Each cottage has its own braai area in its rose garden.

Some of my cottages do have a comfortable double bed sized sleeper couch in the room that is suitable for 1 adult or 2 children under 12 years old.

There is an additional rate payable for the extra person.

My 1 bedroom cottages sleep 2 people.

My 2 bedroom cottages sleep 4 people.

If you have 6 people, for example, you will need to book 2 cottages – a 1 bedroom and a 2 bedroom. We do not allow “overloading” of our cottages.
